I met Daniel while in Seattle for MS Search Champs last week. I’m a big fan of the Robot Coop, so it was a pleasure to meet them all. Of course he quizzed me about my stance on Web 2.0, but then so did everyone else I met on this trip ;-) Anyway, The Robot Coop is actually implementing the stuff I only write about!

I met Erik last week while I was in Seattle for MS Search Champs. I’ve been reading his blog for… 3-4 years? (not sure, but a long time now). So it was fantastic to meet him in person. He’s a very cool guy, much cooler than me :-). But I think we share the same sense of humor and love of writing.

I really wanted to go to the Andy Warhol-themed party Erik was running the next evening, but I got isolated from my MS Search Champs buddies (who went off to do a podcast about privacy issues, which wasn’t my cup of tea) and anyway rather than brave the Seattle streets by myself I ended up crashing in my hotel room and getting some much-needed sleep. Yes I’m a total wuss.

I’m looking forward to visiting Seattle again sometime. The city has a lot of character, like my hometown of Wellington NZ.

I gave him directions to our office and told him it was within walking distance of his hotel. I probably forgot to mention it was all uphill though. Oops. In any case, like a champ he found our cleverly hidden offices without the usual extended search, and turned out to be as awesome in person as he appears on his blog. I hope to see him at The Hideout tomorrow evening.

...because of his wonderful blog, readwriteweb. i want to ask him about web 2.0 and what’s next for blogging.

He informed on me and now the other members of the Illuminati are pissed at me. Oh well.

Richard and I have talked through the blog world for a couple of years now and I’m finally going to make it to New Zealand in January and hope to meet him personally, though he is getting married when we plan to be in Wellington…
